| i have a big paper due on monday...but i cant seem to get myself to work on it probably because (1) i have a massive migraine, which isnt going away with the several different meds i've tried, (2) i have no motivation to do unnecessary work that doesnt seem to relate to my future career as an occupational therapist....boo for stupid assignments. in the meanwhile, however, i would like to share my experience in Ghana with you all!!!
Ghana is one of those countries where you know that the people don't take life and resources for granted. they really live with what they have and are content with the things that are given to them. they love to smile and wave just because they can. and so the adventure begins... here we are doing the canopy walks, where we walked along about 15 of these bridges on top of the rainforest! (this is the 2nd rainforest i've been in, African rainforest & Brazil/Amazon rainforest...wahoooo~~!! )

here are some pictures of Cape Coast. isnt it beautiful? We were
in Ghana for the country's 50th anniversary of independence so everyone
was celebrating and having big festivals/parties. if you look closely,
you can see a huge group of people in the water!
this was our African safari every morning and evening in our "tro-tro" from our guesthouse to the school.
and then, here starts the pictures of our beloved ghanaian babies!!
this is Little Ebe, one of the children that me and my partner was assigned to. look at that cute little face...

with the kids, we basically gave these children occupational therapy! we thought up treatment plans and goals for the kids and worked on the specific skills we wanted to work with them on.
Little Ebe and his walker & Linda wearing their Sunday best.
some of my teammates and the kids.
i added this one new picture of the missionaries' kid. isnt he SOOOO cute?! God blesses missionaries' kids and makes them beautiful. i want one. haha...just kidding!
And then!!! after my Ghanaian adventure, i stayed behind, while the rest of the team went back to the great U.S. of A...and hitched a plane ride over to Italy!!! and of all places, Siena (where i studied 2 years ago)!!! it was a bit strange...it wasnt full of new sights and adventures being that it was the 2nd time around but i must say it's nice experiencing italy with my (practically) sister, Janice!
oh how i love thee.... un cappuccino e brioche. it's just not the same over here.
me and janice...reunited in italia! she definitely outshines me in italian, the language of love...but that's all right. we can share our fondness of italia just the same. we went to a city called Lucca. i didnt get to see that city when i was in italy so we went...and biked all around the city walls. E bellissima!
here i am riding a bicycle...i look happy here. but let me tell you, my heart was racing and my adrenaline was pumping...WHY? because i have a fear of riding bicycles. who would have thunk it huh? i do...it's true. i feel like im gonna fall and crash or hit someone or something...umm...which i kinda did that day.
that concludes my post. twas splendid! and now im back to reality....in the world where i must work, study, drive, pay bills and go to school. oh i sound so sad...im not really. maybe its the stress of this dreadful paper! ciao! | | |
| HI!!!
i am alive and well. just came back from Ghana, Africa...and I really think this trip has changed my life. just in terms of the direction God is taking me. He opened a whole new world to me...that I think God is leaning me towards....well it ties with my profession so i mean it makes sense.
i cant wait to show you all my pictures and show you my newly adopted Ghanaian babies!!
I am in Frankfurt at the moment, waiting for my next flight into ITALY!!! ahhhh.....part II begins. keep praying for me and that while i travel alone that i will be safe and not get lost. haha. ohhhh brother. thats scary.
